Protecting God's Children for Adults is a THREE HOUR educational session focusing on the prevention of child sexual abuse. This program covers: Facts and myths about child sexual abuse, How offenders gain access to children/youth, Red flags to watch for in those who may abuse, Warning signs in children/youth who may be victims of abuse, Methods for screening employees and volunteers, Monitoring church programs to keep them safe, Appropriate and inappropriate affection with children/youth, and Responding to allegations of abuse. This interactive program is mandatory for all employees, clergy, and volunteers that serve within the Diocese of Phoenix. Due to the sensitive nature of the topic no one under 18 years old is permitted to attend this session. Please complete attached Volunteer Application and Code of Ethics and bring them to your serving location (or you may email it to the Safe Environment Coordinator at your location). If you are unable to complete or print at this time, copies are available at the foundation class.
